Returning for her third season as an Archer is one of the WBBL’s best forwards – Shannon Hatch.
Fresh off her second year, where she led the team in minutes, games played, rebounds, steals, and points, Shannon is ready to continue her progress and lead the Archers back into the playoffs.
A combo forward, Shannon finished second in the WBBL at 19.4 PPG last season, and led the team in scoring almost every game. Coupled with her aggressive defense and commanding on-court presence, she provides a foundation for consistent excellence on both ends of the court.
Shannon was a key part of every Archer win last season, averaging 23 PPG among the Archer victories. As the team put together a 4-3 run to end the season, Shannon did the same, averaging a 50-33-80 in FG%/3P%/FT% over those final 7 games, her best statistical output of the year.
Named as last year’s MVP by the student body and staff for all sports at Cardiff Met, Shannon has taken over the university by storm since her arrival, and is poised to continue her leadership and excellence once again.
Hatch said, “I am very happy to be back with the Archers! We have added a number of new players to the mix and we are returning a core of talented and great character people, which makes me very excited for the upcoming season. I hope we can build on what we started last year and keep on improving as a team!”
Head Coach, Stef Collins, added, “We are delighted to have Shannon back with us again for a third season. She was one of the best players in the WBBL last year, with her ability to stretch the floor on offense and provide leadership and support, and she was an even better person and teammate to have around the programme. She’s been a fantastic addition to the Archer Family.”
