Magic Molly James joins the Archers

British guard Molly James has joined the Archers for the 2022-23 season.

Previously at Charnwood, Loughborough and Leicester Riders, and Gloucester City Queens most recently in 2021-22, as well as a spell at DIII Lenoir-Rhyne University, the combo guard heads to the Welsh capital.

Averaging 6.8 points per game last season for the Queens, James played 18 minutes a game in her first experience of the top flight, and will be looking to add to that while helping the Archers compete for a playoff place.

James has also played for GB U16s, and started out her career with Bristol Academy Flyers back in 2017.

James said, “I’m really excited to be here in Cardiff. Coach Stef Collins has kept in touch for a long time, but now is the perfect time for me to make the move to Cardiff. I want to help make that winning difference here. The family vibe at Archers is really special, and I can’t wait to be a part of it."

Head Coach, Stef Collins, added, “We have followed Molly for a long time and we are delighted she is now able to join the Archer Family. She has the combo guard skills and has good size for the guard position, and brings that added competition and competitive desire to help strengthen the programme.”
