ABOUT US

Welcome to Archers.Basketball - the home of Cardiff Met Archers Basketball Club, the leading basketball club in Wales and one of the biggest in the UK.

Established in 1999 by a group of students and local players, including Director of Basketball Lucy Witt, Archers Basketball has gone from strength to strength over the last 23 years. We currently operate 25 teams and groups ranging from U8 to the senior squads.

Originally competing in British University Sports Association (BUSA) and the West of England Basketball Association (WEBBA) competitions, Cardiff Met Archers now compete at the highest levels of women’s and wheelchair leagues, as well as the upper leagues in the National Basketball League.

We are the only Welsh side in the WBBL (Women’s British Basketball League) and one of four British Wheelchair Basketball High Performance Partners acting as centre of excellence and competing in the Women’s Premier League. The Women's Premier League is the first ever para-sport league of its kind in the UK.

We regularly contribute dozens of players to Welsh and Great Britain national sides, as well as coaches, performance analysts, and team managers, and host some of the biggest events in the Welsh basketball calendar.

At Cardiff Met Archers we don’t just focus on the running game – our BUCS Wheelchair Basketball side were silver medallists in 2022, and with a national league team running alongside our Women’s Premier League side, we offer the most inclusive basketball experience in the UK.

Our Junior Academy operates within the Cardiff Met Sports umbrella, and with highly qualified coaches at every age group, from eight year olds to eighteen year olds, our team of coaches deliver fun, enjoyable, and engaging sessions aimed at developing the person, the player, and the team.

Across our website, you can find out more about our coaches, our WBBL, WPL and NBL teams and rosters, junior and senior teams training times, how to get involved, events, news, and more...
