Abigail Yunker is an Archer!

Joining the Archers program from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, comes newly graduated scoring guard Abigail Yunker.

Abigail joins the Archers after a highly successful college career, ending with a North Coast Athletic Conference championship and a trip to the NCAA Division 3 Women’s Basketball Championship.

A key part of the Wittenerg squad, Abigail played in 98 games over five years, and averaged double-digit points per game for all of her final three seasons. In her final year, she averaged 11.3 PPG with 41-36-82 shooting splits. The 36% from 3 was especially notable, as Abigail was one of the best 3-point shooters in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

In her first year of professional basketball, Abigail hopes to have a major impact on the Archers squad, looking to boost the team offensively and fit into the family culture that drives the Archers program, and is exciting to get going.

“I can’t wait to play overseas here in Cardiff. I know what I bring to the floor, and what it takes to win, and I want to help the team win. It’s a really exciting prospect moving to another country and playing basketball, and Cardiff is the perfect place for me to do that and thrive.

Stef Collins, Archers WBBL Head Coach, said, “Abigail brings great depth to our guard position, showcasing her scoring ability throughout college and her ability to stretch the floor will be vital for us. She’s shown winning behaviours before and understands what it takes to succeed at the highest level, and I’m sure she’ll hit the ground running.”
