BW – Basketball Wales – the National Governing Body (NGB) that runs the game in Wales
D2M/D2W – formatting of our NBL and some local league teams – D2/D3 indicates the level, and M/W/B/G indicates the specific team/gender. D2M is Division 2 Men, D2W is Division 2 Women, U18M is Under-18 Men, as examples.
HPP – High Performance Programme – 4 HPPs exist in the UK (Cardiff Metropolitan University, University of East London, Loughborough University, Worcester University) that take part in the WPL, and host elite athletes to help them prepare for international competition.
NBL – National Basketball League – run by Basketball England, encompassing teams across England and some from Wales, from U12s level to senior Division 1
SWBA – South Wales Basketball Association – the volunteer organisation that runs local league competitions in South Wales
WEBBA – West of England Basketball Association – the volunteer organisation that runs local league competitions across the Bristol area
WPL – Women’s Premier League – run by British Wheelchair Basketball, this is a Women’s only wheelchair basketball competition.
