Sarah Wagstaff – What makes Archers Basketball so special

As Archers Basketball gears up for another season, we hear from Head of Basketball Sarah Wagstaff. Sarah’s journey with the Archers began in 2004 as she embarked on her undergraduate degree and has since blossomed into a defining role within the club now celebrating its 25th year.

Sarah’s tenure with Archers Basketball has not only been marked by personal and club achievements but also by significant contributions to the wider basketball community. Over the years, as a result of her involvement with Archers Basketball, Sarah has had the unique opportunity to work closely with Welsh national teams and also with Great Britain Basketball.

These opportunities highlight Sarah's passion for basketball and her ability to inspire and lead not only within the Archers club but also among the elite levels of the sport. Her leadership is characterised by a commitment to investing in people and a deep understanding of what it means to be an Archer.

What makes Archers Basketball so special? According to Sarah, it’s the club’s ability to nurture not only athletic prowess but also personal development. "We strive to create a supportive atmosphere where everyone can achieve their best, both on and off the court." This holistic approach to development is a cornerstone of the Archers philosophy, one that has contributed to the club’s lasting success and impact.
